Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 May 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how HavenGH ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects the personal information of visitors and users of our website. By using HavenGH you agree to the practices described below.
1. What we collect
We collect only what we need to help you find a property:
- Information you give us — your name, email, phone number, and any message you send through our contact form or when inquiring about a listing.
- Information stored locally on your device — saved properties (favorites) and search filters. This data lives in your browser's storage and is not sent to our servers.
- Usage information — basic statistics about how the site is used, such as pages visited and approximate location (from your IP address). We do not track you across other websites.
2. How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiries and connect you with one of our agents.
- To send updates about properties matching your interest, but only if you've explicitly asked us to.
- To improve the website and our service quality.
- To meet legal obligations under Ghanaian law, including the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
3. Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- The HavenGH agent assigned to your inquiry.
- Trusted service providers who help us run the site. These providers are bound by confidentiality:
- Formspree (USA) — delivers your contact form messages to our inbox.
- Supabase (USA) — stores listing data and property photographs.
- WhatsApp / Meta (Ireland) — only when you click a "WhatsApp" link, you are handed off to their app.
- Google Fonts (USA) — serves typography. Your IP address is visible to Google when the page loads.
- Authorities, when legally required under Ghanaian law.
4. How we protect your information
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data:
- Encryption in transit — HTTPS/TLS for every page and API call.
- Content Security Policy — strict CSP headers to block injected scripts and unauthorized resource loads.
- Database access — only the configured administrator email can write to the listings database, enforced by Supabase Row-Level Security.
- Form submissions — delivered over HTTPS to Formspree; we don't keep an independent copy on a server.
- Account isolation — admin sign-in uses a one-time email magic link; no admin password is stored.
No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your information as carefully as we treat our own.
4a. Data retention
- Contact form messages: kept for up to 24 months, then deleted unless an active inquiry is still open.
- Favorites and search filters: stored only in your browser. Clearing your browser data removes them.
- Listing data: retained for as long as the property is listed; archived for up to 12 months after removal for audit purposes.
4b. Reporting a vulnerability
If you believe you've discovered a security issue with the website, please email havengh@gmail.com with the details. We'll respond within 5 working days and ask that you not publicly disclose the issue until we've had a reasonable opportunity to fix it.
5. Your rights
Under Ghana's Data Protection Act (Act 843, 2012), you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- File a complaint with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at havengh@gmail.com. We respond within 14 working days.
6. Cookies and local storage
We use your browser's local storage to remember your favorites and recent search filters. We don't use third-party tracking cookies. You can clear this data anytime from your browser's settings.
Specific keys we set in your browser:
haven_favorites— the list of property IDs you've saved.haven_properties_v1— used only in offline/demo mode to remember locally-edited listings.- Supabase auth tokens — set only on the admin sign-in page after a magic-link login.
7. Children's privacy
HavenGH is not intended for children under 18 and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the site means you accept any updates.
